I hope you have enjoyed your summer break and that you are ready for a successful school year. I look forward to another year working with the finest students in Sumter School District. Our new school hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We believe all of our students are able to learn at the highest level. Students, I ask that you come to school eager to learn and willing to work with our teachers and staff in order to reach your potential. Your teachers are prepared to assist you in your journey as you strive to reach your academic, social and athletic goals. If we work as a team, we can accomplish anything. Parents, you are a vital part of your child’s success at Furman Middle. Please feel confident that your child is receiving the best educational opportunities that are available. We also want you to feel comfortable being a part of the school and invite you to visit the campus as much as possible. Please take advantage of every opportunity to participate in your child’s education. We encourage you to join our Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) and our School Improvement Council (SIC). We also encourage you to regularly communicate with your child’s teachers and administrators. I have an open door policy and invite you to stop by any time.
